Lynda Taylor, a truly brilliant seed bead artist contacted me for a collaboration. Lynda wanted to confront her fear of the New Zealand Weta and create “Wetamunga” as her entrance into The Beadhold Challenge 2009. This was one of the most wonderful collaborations I have ever done. We had so much fun designing the individual components for her magnificent creature. The most challenging I think for me was creating 6 legs that match in length and design. Seems crazy but true. The other challenge was creating the components with holds that Lynda could stitch the torso and abdomen onto. I absolutely loved the opportunity. Lynda won the Highly commended award in the Nature section.
